Day 92

April 2012 - the time I started CrossFit as my regular go to type of work out.  One thing I have to do but honestly hate to do it, is working out.  If it was up to me, I would rather do anything else, but I was not born with an amazing metabolism like my brothers or in a small frame.

First a bit of background - I'm not opposed to physical activities, on the contrary I do like them a lot, specially going on hikes or purely just walking around the city.   Biking is also an activity I enjoy a lot, and while growing up I used to do a lot of skating.  Sports however have never been my strength; I play them few a far between and outside of being really good at volleyball during my high school years, I was (am) fairly bad at the ones I play with my friends like basketball or soccer, and on an extreme situation baseball.

As mentioned above, in high school I was part of the volleyball team and I did fairly good and by that I time I had already started a regular gym, but as soon as high school ended, the typical physical workout scenario for myself changed to working out exclusively in a gym.  At the time I did like it a lot, it was new, I was strong enough to lift a decent weight, I was competing with my friends, but then, after I got my first job, going to the gym turned into a routine.

It became boring, very boring to me to the point where I literally stopped going which had a negative effect on my health and physical wellbeing.  I started working out again once I found Crossfit, recommended by one of my first friends I made in Miami, and well, there are plenty of stories to tell about CrossFit, but they will be on another occasion.
