Music for a sushi restaurant

Day 5

To be honest, at the moment, I'm just tired, exhausted, physically drained but not sleepy 😑but nevertheless, a good day.  My morning was way too chill at the office basically because Microsoft Office suite was not working on my laptop.

I informed IT about the issue, where Word, Excel and more importantly Outlook were not working on my laptop, and they took basically the whole morning to fix the problem.  I hated the fact that without those SW, I could barely do anything productive, but a couple of meetings had me "entertained" until lunch time, time when they call me and finally fixed the problem.

After that the day went as usual: home for lunch, office in the afternoon, back home and then CrossFit.  Since my nephew is leaving very soon and for the past few days we have not gone out, I decided to take out for dinner, and we visited a Sushi restaurant where a dear friend works.

My friend introduced me to his manager and said something along the lines of "I know him for at least 20 years and is a really good friend of mine", I only had to correct him on the fact that we have only known each other for exactly 15 years and was one of the very first people I met in Miami.  We used to work together at the computer labs in the university and we hit it off fairly quick with many hobbies we shared among us: video games, anime, tv shows, and computers.

Personality wise we are a bit different; he is way too energetic, always moving from side to side, couldn't stand still for 5 minutes, always looking for something to do and burn some energy, loved that he has a very short fuse for people's bullshit whenever he was dealing with technical problems.  I guess he may have ruffled some feathers along the way, especially with senior staff at the campus, but I wouldn't blame him, we did have to deal with major BS sometimes. Me on the other hand, due to having a bit more experience dealing with disgruntle customers, was more pragmatic and diplomatic to deal with their BS, and calmer attitude in comparison.

But that was 15 years ago, and this is now. We both in our 30s and we plenty of experience in life and his introduction to the manager had me thinking all night long about how lucky I've been in the past 15 years with the people I've met and funny that in the last months of 2023 I had the chance to catch up with many old friends by decision (hey let's get together) or by accident (random encounters walking around the city).

Anyways, we had a great dinner, and nephew was dying to try a Ramen soup, so his wishes were granted, along with all the other wishes to eat like a pig at a Japanese restaurant.
